The Lego AT-AT (or crux of christmas) — Day 1

Every year, Noah gets one big present, which I refer to as “The Crux of Christmas”. This year I got him the Lego Star Wars AT-AT, a motorized walking version of the machines seen in The Empire Strikes Back. Noah’s had his eye on this set since he was about 3 and a half, when my ArtyPapers friend bought it and put it together. It is VERY cool. Click below to see more fun lego construction.

found it! (whew!)

Here he is with the usual lego piece salvage yard I build for him, as his Piece Finding and Organizing Assistant. A noble job, really. This set is so large (1100 pieces–most of them very tiny) we had to get tupperware containers so we can put everything away at night and keep them safe from Louie The Terrible, who would love nothing more than to bat all the pieces under the couch and refrigerator.

An engine piece that I thought was neat:

Flannel pajamas for Mingus

rubber duck jammies for Mingus

I drew this for Erin’s birthday in early November, but haven’t posted it. Mingus is our very elderly cat. He’s quite thin and is always cold. He sleeps under the register vent when winter comes. Since he always looks so cold, Erin thought it would be nice if we gave him flannel pajamas. I decided he would be quite charming in rubber duck pajamas, so that’s what I drew. It took a really long time to draw all those ducks!

We’re on the down-slope to Christmas; l’m also still transcribing interviews, which has been taking up a large chunk of my “sitting in front of the computer” time. Aside from work where I do that too. So, posting has been a bit in between.
