Noah + Flagstaff + Sunset Crater
Last week I travelled to AZ to visit Noah. I try to go once in fall and once in spring, in addition to his visits to Iowa. We visited my dad, who lives in Flagstaff.
One day we went to Sunset Crater..site of the most recently active volcano in Arizona: A.D. 1066–which, remember, is when the Normans invaded England..so while Europe was having territorial wars, North America had volcanoes erupting. Kind of an interesting juxtaposition, no?
Anyway, I took a few photos of the lava fileds and the cinder mound that is “Sunset Crater” so named because of it’s many orange/yellow/brown/black colors. It’s a pretty interesting site, very alien.
